"How to Care for Your Beloved Suit?"Properly storing your suit after wearing it can extend its lifespan!

Would you like to know how to store and maintain your suits?

For suits, washing can significantly damage their structure and materials—almost every wash can lead to some form of deterioration. High-quality suit fabrics are mostly made from natural fibers such as wool, cashmere, and silk. These materials can easily deteriorate and lose their texture when saturated with water, and the washing process can also lead to delamination, causing the garment to lose its shape. Therefore, understanding how to clean and care for your suits is essential.

Suit Cleaning Tips:

1. Dry Clean Your Suit
Suits should not be washed with water, bleached, or wrung out. The best cleaning method is dry cleaning, but avoid excessive dry cleaning, as it can damage the fabric. Even the highest quality materials can be harmed by chemical cleaners, so it's best to dry clean your suit no more than twice a year. Water washing is generally unsuitable for suits because the complex inner lining can delaminate and lead to fabric damage, causing the garment to lose its shape.

2. Avoid Ironing the Suit Jacket
Generally, you can open the hot water in the bathroom and close the window to use light steam to relieve wrinkles and remove odors from smoke or perfume. However, do not stay in the bathroom too long to avoid excess humidity affecting the shape of the suit. Hanging wool suits in an environment with 35%-40% humidity overnight can help remove wrinkles.

3. Regularly Brush the Suit
If your suit accumulates dust or small stains, you can use a wool brush to lightly brush the surface for effective cleaning. Regularly using a wool brush to remove dust and periodically using tape to pick up other fibers can keep your suit feeling fresh for a long time. For larger stains that require thorough cleaning, dry cleaning is the most suitable method, but again, avoid doing this too frequently.

4. Store with a Hanger or Professional Garment Bag
When storing your suit, use a wide-shouldered, curved suit hanger to hang it properly. You can also use a garment bag for safe storage. It's recommended to cover it with a dust cover and avoid excessive compression of the suit, ensuring that each garment in your closet maintains a safe distance to coexist. Use a separate storage cabinet or space for off-season clothes.

5. Avoid Overstuffing Pockets
Do not put items in the two outer pockets. Small items like business cards, wallets, and phones should be kept in the inner pockets of the jacket. Overstuffed pockets can cause the suit to lose its shape.
