There’s a kind of cold that comes when Grandma thinks you’re cold (hey, totally kills the vibe 😂).
Some people have a magic that always brings out the best in you, or rather, they inspire you to achieve things you never thought you could. When you’re with them, you feel like you’re full of infinite possibilities.
In the past, I thought being myself meant fearlessly expressing everything about me, but now I actually prefer those things that "inspire me."
For example, I never imagined I could stand on a stage in front of two thousand people without fear. With the help of some key figures like Grace Mama Hsiao Hung Chang, speaking and hosting have become things I really enjoy and find quite normal.
Another example is that I never thought I could finish reading fifteen books in 2020. After meeting the right person, Elsa Huang, I actually fell in love with reading. Last year, in my crazy attempt to clear out my bookshelf at National Taiwan University, I made a bet with a stranger, Tsai Chi-Yu: if I didn’t finish my books, I’d have to pay a fine of ten thousand. As a result, I ended up reading five books related to finance, which I had previously struggled with.
And there’s also the time at the beginning of last year when I just wanted to lose some weight. After swimming weekly with Cida Lee and strength training with Janet Chen, I miraculously finished my first triathlon, thanks to Cida's encouragement! 😭
There are so many similar experiences. Thanks to the hard work of strong people like Liu Ting-Wei, we organized a press conference with 200 attendees in just two months.
Of course, every step of the way has been a blend of blood and tears, and it makes me deeply feel that without you all, these moments that I cherish wouldn’t exist in my life, which would otherwise be super boring. I really love you all.
I also believe that all beautiful things start with the right people and environment. As long as the stage and the people are right, it can truly inspire unexpected things, and “unexpected” is the most beautiful seasoning in life.
I hope to create those flavorful moments in the new year, becoming someone who can inspire the best in others and be inspired in return. 🎅
I always believe that if you feel inadequate or inferior right now, it doesn’t mean you’re not good enough; you might just be in a place that doesn’t suit you, wearing a shirt that doesn’t fit. If that shirt makes you feel suffocated, then take it off or order a new one. Don’t force yourself to fit into a shirt that doesn’t suit you; it should be that the shirt fits you because you are amazing and worthy.
