Common men's accessories often include ties, bow ties, and tie clips, but one unique and often overlooked accessory is cufflinks. In today's world, the convenience of industrialization has led many to forgo cufflinks in favor of buttoned cuffs.

Historically, European gentlemen wore cufflinks as a symbol of status, using various styles to express their unique personal flair. Before diving into the different types of cufflinks, it's worth noting that traditionally, only French shirts could accommodate cufflinks. However, Japan later invented a dual-purpose cuff that can use both regular buttons and cufflinks, allowing for versatile styling based on mood.

Types of Cufflinks:

1.Gemstone Cufflinks:
In the 18th and 19th centuries, royal nobility often adorned their cufflinks with gemstones. These gemstone-encrusted cufflinks exude an air of luxury and opulence, making a striking statement of wealth and status.

2.Relief Cufflinks:
Relief cufflinks have a more thematic design, allowing individuals to choose elements that reflect their personal tastes. These unique pieces often feature intricate raised designs, making them a great way to express individuality and style.

Watch Cufflinks: British cufflink manufacturers have creatively combined quartz watches with cufflinks, resulting in a unique two-in-one design. This innovative concept not only serves as a functional accessory but also adds a touch of sophistication to any outfit.

Wooden Cufflinks:
Wooden cufflinks bring a touch of elegance, combining the warmth of wood with the sleekness of metal. This blend creates a harmonious balance of strength and softness, making them a distinctive accessory for any ensemble.

Unique Cufflinks:
Unique cufflinks come in various unconventional shapes and designs. However, their distinctiveness can make them harder to pair with outfits, which is why they are less commonly chosen.

 How to Use Cufflinks

Cufflink fastening methods generally fall into two categories: French Round Cufflink Method and French Flat Cufflink Method.

The flat method replaces the cuff buttons with cufflinks, involving folded cuffs or an additional piece of fabric, where both cuffs have buttonholes that do not overlap. This is the most traditional French cuff method. However, most people in Taiwan are more accustomed to the French round cuff method.

Summary of the Cufflink Fastening Steps:
1. Choose the Right Shirt:Make sure you have a shirt designed for cufflinks.
2. Flip the Cuffs Outward:Ensure the edges of both cuffs are even and flat.
3. Align the Cuffs Together:Bring the cuffs together neatly.
4. Align the Buttonholes:Position the buttonholes correctly.
5. Insert the Cufflink and Secure It:Push the cufflink through the buttonholes and secure it in place.
